Celluma Light Therapy for Acne and Skin — What You Should Know

Innovation Wellness — Early, TXCelluma Light Service Page

Celluma is a professional light therapy device that uses three specific wavelengths — blue, red, and near-infrared — to address different skin and tissue concerns. It is not a tanning device, it is not a heat lamp, and it is not the same as a red light panel or the NovoTHOR bed. It is a targeted tool with a specific and well-defined range of applications.

Here is what each wavelength does, what to expect from a session, and how to know whether it is a good fit for what you are dealing with.

The Three Wavelengths — What Each One Does

Blue Light — For Acne

Blue light targets the bacteria that contribute to acne breakouts. It works at the surface level — within the skin and in the pores — and is appropriate for active breakouts and ongoing acne management. It does not address the deeper causes of acne (hormones, gut health, diet), but it is a useful targeted tool for managing what is happening at the skin level.

Red Light — For Skin Rejuvenation

Red light penetrates a bit deeper than blue and is used for skin texture, tone, and signs of aging. It is associated with supporting collagen activity, which is relevant for fine lines, skin firmness, and overall skin quality. People who use red light for skin rejuvenation tend to think of it as a slow, cumulative improvement rather than a dramatic immediate change.

Near-Infrared — For Localized Pain and Discomfort

Near-infrared light reaches deeper into tissue and is used for localized areas of discomfort — a shoulder, a knee, a specific sore area. The mechanism is similar to broader near-infrared therapy but applied in a targeted, smaller format. It is not the same as a full-body near-infrared session in the NovoTHOR, but it is effective for localized concerns.

What the Session Involves

Celluma sessions are simple. The flexible panel is positioned close to the skin — face, back, shoulder, or wherever is relevant. The light runs for a set period, typically around 30 minutes. You do not feel significant heat. There is no recovery time afterward.

For facial applications, your provider will note whether you need eye protection for the session. For body applications, you can usually remain clothed depending on the area being addressed.

Celluma as an Add-On to Esthetic Services

One of the more practical applications at Innovation Wellness is adding Celluma to a facial. Ashley incorporates it into specific facial treatments — the Acne Facial and the Radiance Revival facial both include Celluma LED as part of the session. You can also add it as a standalone upgrade to other services.

For acne clients especially, the combination of professional extraction, acne-targeted products, and Celluma blue light in the same visit is more effective than any single element on its own.

Who It Is a Good Fit For

  • People dealing with active acne or frequent breakouts who want a non-antibiotic tool to include in their skincare approach
  • Anyone looking to support skin texture and early signs of aging as part of a regular skincare routine
  • People with a specific area of localized discomfort — a tight shoulder, a sore knee — who want a targeted light therapy option
  • Those adding it as an upgrade to a facial for more comprehensive results

What It Is Not

Celluma is not a skin condition treatment and we do not position it as one. It is a professional wellness and skincare tool with specific, well-defined uses. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, that is a conversation for a dermatologist. Celluma is appropriate as part of a broader skincare approach — not as a replacement for medical care when that is needed.

Celluma light therapy is available at Innovation Wellness in Early, TX as a standalone session or as part of a broader wellness visit. Call 325-641-2796 or book online to schedule.
